Part 1 of 2. Olga Custodio was born in 1953 in Puerto Rico, and she grew up moving around both in the United States and abroad because her dad was in the Army. They returned to Puerto Rico when he retired, and she went to college and tried to enlist as an officer but was told nothing was open. She got married and moved around with her husband who worked in airfield management with the Air Force, and while they were stationed in Panama she applied to become an Air Force pilot. She was accepted for officer candidate training in 1979 and graduated from flight school in 1981. She then worked in different Air Force bases as a pilot and flight instructor. In 1988, she began working in the Directorate of Readiness and Accountability at Randolph Air Force Base and as a commercial airline pilot. No transcript of this interview is currently available.
